Early Christmas

Image
We went home and celebrated an early Christmas with my side of the family and I must say, we really liked it! I didn't think it would feel like Christmas since we didn't have it at the normal time, but Mom and Dad put up their tree and decorated the house and we still did all the traditional Christmas activities so it was a lot of fun. So much less stressful too. All of my siblings were able to make it out and it was great to catch up with everyone and see how much my nieces and nephews have changed. I missed out on seeing my nephews Colby and Trevor though, due to college classes and basketball. We expected to come away with some illnesses after being in a house full of 11 adults and 8 kids and we all came home with head colds. No fevers or doctor visits needed. 14 month update

As you saw from a previous post the babies are officially 14 months old (12 months adjusted age). It's amazing how different this year is from last just because of the RSV precautions we had to follow last year. We weren't able to go anywhere, including the grocery store or church which was really tough. While we are still careful with what situations we take them into we are able to be a little more lax this year. They still qualify for the RSV vaccine because they were preemies so we'll get that every month from Nov-April and then we got them vaccinated for both seasonal flu and H1N1 flu. We'll be putting it to the test soon as we'll be flying home to celebrate Christmas a little early with my family and will be in a house full of kids. Grant: He is all boy! He loves to push trucks around and can entertain himself for hours with a formula can rolling it around the house. His favorite activity right now is sitting on the bottom step while he claps for himself and s...

To get out and enjoy the awesome weather (I know you Kansas people are jealous!) we went to the park and had a picnic and played awhile. Their favorite thing by far was the swings! If any of you remember McKinley's "stalker" pic when she was a baby...this is Chad's "stalker" pic! I know McKinley...I don't like the Cardinals either...

Halloween

Image
We got out and enjoyed the nice weather and participated in some of the fun fall activities in the area. First was the pumpkin patch with Grandpa Ted and Grandma Julie and some friends. We played in the pumpkin patch, rolled around in the corn and rode the train. For Halloween we went to a carnival in our community and had our tradition of pizza for dinner. The babies got to pick out a piece of candy after dinner and they LOVED it! Grant kept saying "mmm....yummy!" No trick or treating this year because I had to work and they were in bed before all the trick or treaters started coming around.
