This post is WAAAY late, but I just now figured out how to upload pics from my phone!  These pics are from McKinley's and I's mommy/daughter date back in March. Posing in front of the tea house We were in the princess room Look at all this food!! She really liked the tea!

Best Frugal Date EVER!

For Christmas I made Chad "A Year of Love" packet which included a special date night for each month.  The dates have all been a blast, but this month was by far our fave "budget" date of all time!!  We went to the batting cages and  hit some balls.  Then we went to a local hiking preserve and had a picnic of homemade pizza and beer in the back of the van while we listened to music and watched the sun set!  So much fun and it cost $15!!

Ladybug Release

Image
Listening to Miss Ladybug explain the life cycle of a ladybug waiting to get their handful of ladybugs This totally creeped me out!! He was so super gentle with the ladybugs! Our community has an annual ladybug release with over 15,000 ladybugs!  They give the kids handful of ladybugs to put around the park on trees, bushes, etc so the ladybugs can fly off!  I would say about 50% of the ladybugs didn't make it past all the kids feet and hands though :-(  Super cute event!  McKinley of course had to wear her ladybug costume for it!

If you forget a stroller, you improvise!! The parade this year was FREEZING which was a big change from sweating last year!  It was so ghetto this year, but the kids LOVED it haha! Flying kites in the rare Arizona wind Yet another reason why I love homeschooling....school outside on beautiful days! resting after some swimming Chad rigged up a toddler pool area in the yard! Enjoying the water park!  We loved it so much we got season tickets! That big splash is Chad and Grant coming down slide! Taking a break for a snack Posing for a pic at the airport restaurant.  This is one of our favorite outings so we had to do it again with our buddies Tristan and Tyler before we moved! They were being cows in a cage! These kids are such good friends.  Tristan and McKinley have officially become little boyfriend/girlfriend and hold hands everywhere they go!  So cute...and scary! McKinley climbing the rock wall ...

Easter 2012

Wow...lots and lots of Easter fun! It's so hard to maintain the balance between enjoying all the festivities and keeping the focus on the real reason for the holiday, especially with 3 year olds that love candy :-) We had an Easter egg party/hunt with our twin playgroup and like last year, it was great! The organizers do such a good job setting up cupcake decorating, crafts, egg dying and an awesome egg hunt with great prizes! The next day we had our Easter celebration out in our community which was a lot of fun. Face painting, balloon animals, bounce houses, petting zoo and an egg hunt...wow! To top it off we met our friends Misty and Eric and the kids' best friends, Tristan and Tyler at church on Saturday night and it was such an awesome service. After service we all came here for a yummy turkey dinner and fun playing outside until 9:30 p.m.!! We even did an egg hunt using flashlights! For Easter Grandpa Ted and Grandma Julie came with some awesome Easter baskets and...
