Heard Around the Nuttle House- September Edition

Image
Grant:  "Home Depot is my favorite store because there's manly stuff but I also like Victoria's Secret because of all the silky stuff to rub my face on."   We've been honest with the kids about the birds and bees thus far.  We've taught them they were made in a lab and then were put into my stomach and then they were cut out.  All true story.  However, this became a little awkward when they asked if Grandpa had to cut out the kittens on the farm so we said the cat had "pooped" the kittens out lol!  Well...we were at Animal Kingdom where the gorilla had a new baby so when the animal kingdom employee asked if anyone had any questions of course Grant raised his hand and asked if the gorilla baby was cut out or pooped out.  Chad and I were in the back about to die but the employee handled it like a champ and said pooped out LOL!   Some words of advice from my kids.  Grant: "Girls are ridiculous."  McKinley: "You shouldn't ...

Bradenton Beach

This trip was....interesting.  We were supposed to go to a campground in the Keys that usually takes a year to get reservations at, but due to scheduling conflicts we had to cancel.  We decided to instead go to Bradenton which is one of our favorite beaches in Florida.  Well, the red tide decided to move in the day before we arrived and it put a huge kink in our trip.  For those that don't know what the red tide is, it's a build up of algae in the ocean that suffocates the fish.  Therefore, there are dead fish EVERYWHERE including on the beach baking in the sun.  We went about an hour south to try to get out of it, but as we were leaving it was moving into that area as well.  Then while Chad was loading the boat onto the trailer he slipped trying to catch our key fob and fell into the hitch and cut his head open so McKinley was crying as blood was dripping down his face.  Then we flew a tire on boat trailer.  Like I said....interesting :)...

Chad's Chicago Trip

Image
We are able to get crazy cheap flights from Orlando to Chicago so the kids and I surprised Chad with a trip to Chicago to see the Cubs play with his friend Nick.  They had so much fun and it was neat to see him be able to experience Wrigley during a season where the Cubs are doing so well.

Kennedy Space Center

We had the amazing opportunity to go visit Kennedy Space Center with our homeschool group where we were able to attend an educational presentation and then spend the whole day exploring for free!  Grant and Chad loved it, McKinley and I weren't quite as excited but it was a great day nonetheless.

Legoland Theme Park

We planned it so that it was homeschool day at Legoland theme park during our hotel stay so we got discounted tickets.  Our friend, Grayson, who also has a birthday around the same time as the twins joined us at Legoland theme park and their family stayed at the hotel as well.  It was fun having a friend to celebrate with!
