June Recap
Lots of big changes this month!! The biggest news is that Chad has graduated nursing school and passed his state boards so he is officially a REGISTERED NURSE!!! YAY!!! With his new position that means I can cut back at work so I'm only going to be working 6 shifts a month and have my schedule worked out where I will have off 22 days at a time..oh, yeah! Next big news is that both Grant and McKinley are in big kid beds!! The transition went very smoothly. Neither of them have ever attempted to get out of their beds at night, still sleep 12-13 hours each night and nap during the day. Grant's room is still a work in progress because I haven't bought the bedspread yet but he will have a navy and red airplane theme. McKinley's is all girl and has tons of pink and butterflies!! I need to get a pic of her room taken though. Both are fully potty trained and this past week I sold all the potty training stuff, cribs and crib bedding...another milestone under our belt! Trip Home June 2011
For our trip home to Kansas this time we decided to be brave and drive the 30 hours roundtrip! I was a little nervous as to how it would go, but it actually went beautifully! We could have made it to KS without stopping but once we saw 10 deer in 15 miles we got nervous and decided to get a hotel for the night. It went well enough that I'm willing to try it again in the future! We managed to get my whole side of the family together and packed into one house...all 21 of us! It's fun watching all the cousins play together now! My favorite part of being home is riding the mule each night and I think it was the kids favorite part too. They also loved the fact that you don't have to use carseats in my town (no stoplights and only 150 people for all you city-folk that are freaking out right now about no carseats!) One night we did an "un-birthday party" since the cousins never get to celebrate together and did a cupcake decorating, a water balloon fight and matching pj...
