January Recap

Image
January just flew by and I can't believe we're already halfway through February.  I had battled some eating issues with the kids a couple months ago where they were hardly eating AT ALL!  And this wasn't just a 2 or 3 day thing...it went on for about 3 months.  I finally decided to try to add snacks back in (I had cut them out before thinking they would be hungrier at mealtimes) and HOLY COW have they started eating!  I think I was starving them :/  They both gained 3 pounds in a month so they are both up to a whopping 33 lbs!  They are still in regular carseats and I'm hoping to not switch them to booster seats until at least 40 lbs.   Homeschooling is still going good.  Both kids really enjoy it but McKinley really likes school days.  On days we're not doing school she will even ask if she can do some worksheets....love it!   McKinley is still 100% girl.  She loves all things pink, purple and princess.  She is dying ...

The Many Faces of Grant

One day while trying to get a picture with Grant here is what I got!  He loves to photo bomb and kept thinking it was hilarious!

Union Station Christmas

Image
Union Station had the best christmas activities ever!  They had a train display that the kids loved so much that we went 2 different times and they spent probably 3 hours total there!  Then at Crowne Center there was a gingerbread house display that they loved because it had a train going around it as well.  They were able to ride the historic train ride and enjoy the HUGE christmas tree.  One of my favorite things this year! After visiting Crowne Center and Union Station we went to a cute diner down the street and the kids danced to music! Isn't this beautiful???

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day

Image
Unfortunately Chad had to work Christmas Eve and Christmas Day but we were able to make the most of the time we did have!  Before he went to work on Christmas Eve we went to church service and the kids got to even hold their own candle which was super exciting to them.  Then we came home and the kids and I enjoyed a movie and a candy tray in bed while Chad went off to earn our Christmas money :)  On Christmas morning I managed to hold the kids off upstairs until Chad came home and we could open stockings!  So much fun with the kids this year because they had the anticipation of Christmas morning and it was fun to watch the excitement. Candy and a movie in bed! This is the best one we got by setting up the timer

Christmas with Grandma Julie and Grandpa Ted

We went home to the farm to celebrate Christmas with my side of the family (and my camera battery was dead so no pics yet!  Hoping a sibling sends some!)  and we also spent a couple of days with Chad's side of the family.  So nice to be able to do a quick drive home and be able to see both sides of the family now! with Grandma June This is pure excitement here!!!
