McKinley Jane and Grant Alan

My work did an employee social where we went to SeaLife aquarium.  It was cute and fun to spend the time with coworkers outside of the hospital!

After the hurricane hit Puerto Rico, Orlando did a meal packing event that we volunteered at.  The kids had an absolute blast and it was a really fun volunteer opportunity!

Instead of AWANA this year the kids are doing MPact and Royal Rangers.  It's similar to boy/girl scouts and is through our local church.  We liked that it was divided up into boys and girls so it would give McKinley the opportunity to meet some friends.  She got to participate in their MPact sleepover and I definitely think she made memories that will last a lifetime!  They had a guest speaker, played tons of games and watched movies until 2 a.m.  I thought the note she left Grant for the night was so incredibly sweet.  Other than Grant being in the hospital when he was 2 years old we couldn't think of a time they've slept apart!

Over this baseball season Chad managed to catch the Cubs in Atlanta, Miami and then we all went together to Tampa to watch them play the Rays

We've been through two hurricanes so far while we've been in Florida and this one definitely was worse than Hurricane Matthew was.  We were lucky and were only without electricity for 24 hours but many of our neighbors were out for about a week.  We made the most of the night and played games, camped out in living room and then grilled all our food the next day while we waited on electricity to come back on!  No major damage but we did lose our fence and we were inches away from a branch coming into the kids bedroom window.  To get out some of our pent up energy the next day we visited Planet Obstacle where the kids played for HOURS!
