I remember one of the things I hated about the midwest the first time I lived here....the ups and downs of the weather. You can go from 80 degrees to snowing in a matter of one day but our winter clothes are put away so if it cools off again the kids and I are wearing shorts!
These beautiful days are definitely getting taken advantage of though because the kids will spend literally sun up to sun down outside. This year they are able to ride big bike (with training wheels of course) and they LOVE it! There are alot of really neat parks with great bike/running paths so we try to go almost everyday so they can ride and they're getting good enough I can run beside them now.
We're wrapping up school, but we still continue to go during summer as well just so they don't lose skills, but we don't advance any skills..just hone the stuff we have already learned and it's a more casual schedule so if we miss a day or week it's not a big deal. Right now they are working on advancing their reading. Some of the things they are learning are reading small, one sentence per page books, learning more and more sight words, practicing beginning sounds and blends, working on addition and subtraction and starting to learn money.
Lots of fun stuff planned for summer and some of it is already underway! Both kids are in football right now and so far they really like it! Next Grant chose to do t-ball and McKinley chose to do dance. On top of that they will both do PraiseKids through our church. We will also be going through the summer with our bible study group. Add on top of that summer movie program, Worlds of Fun/Oceans of Fun season passes, kids bowl free, and kids skate free and we have a BUSY, BUSY summer planned!

| Grant holding my hand during the movie. He is still such a HUGE cuddle bug. Every morning when he comes downstairs he has to be cuddled for about 10 or 15 minutes before he can start his day and I LOVE it! |

| This definitely was a disaster we barely missed. McKinley was climbing up the drawers to reach something on the top and it fell over BARELY missing both her and Grant. Wow...scary! |
