Fostering Announcement

I stopped school with the kids early today. Not because of bad behavior or a field trip or because I was tired but because they were playing so intently a game with dolls…at 9 years old. We realize many people would call our kids immature, but we call it innocent. Which is why we are embarking on our next journey. So many kids never have the chance at an innocent childhood. They see things they shouldn’t, hear things they shouldn’t and experience things no child or adult should ever have to experience. So when God put it on our hearts to become foster parents we decided to be faithful to Him and obey. We had a million excuses as to why we shouldn’t do it: I just started my masters, our house is too small, our lives are too busy but over and over the answer we heard back from Him was we were to be obedient on HIS time. We have finished all the classes and home studies and are waiting for final licensing approval. We have prayed diligently over our marriage, our kids and for the kids God is going to place in our home. At this point we are excited, nervous, and about every emotion in between but we feel we have prepared as much as we can to this point. Now we place it in God’s hands and make the only decision we can control at this point which is to pray for guidance and for the kids that will be placed in our home.
