We've passed that big one year milestone and looking back on the past year all I have are fond memories other than the fact that it flew by WAY too fast! I miss my cuddly, little 3 pound babies. Well, maybe not 3 lbs...how about when they were 5 lbs. I love that McKinley will still cuddle with me at night before she goes to sleep while she sucks on her blanket. I savor those moments because they're few and far between. Enough of the sobfest since I'm at work. With their one year birthday came one year checkups with both the pediatrician and neonatal nurse specialist. Adjusted age they are 10 months old now so our measurements and testing are all done at that age until they are 2 years old, then they will follow actual age. McKinley and Grant turned 1 year old over the Labor Day weekend and we celebrated by having a Dr Seuss Thing 1 and Thing 2 birthday party! They've had their one year pediatrician and developmental checkups but I'll post all that in a separate post later. For now, enjoy the pics! We took a trip to Vegas this past weekend and I can hear all the groans of people saying "you took your kids to vegas ?!?". In our defense, it was the only place available within driving distance and we had to get the free vacation used up. But....it ended up being our favorite vacation to date with the babies. Hawaii was gorgeous and we had a great time, but there was so much to do in Vegas that we never expected. Our condo ended up being really family friendly with lots to do on site. This was the first long car ride we've had since they've been mobile and they did really well. On the way up there they slept and then got to watch a DVD which was a total treat for them. On the way home we drove at night so they slept the whole way. They handled the trip really well, even with all the late nights. Not Vegas standard late nights, but late for us at a whopping 9:00 p.m.!! It was my birthday while we were there and it ended up being one of my favorite birthday...
