McKinley Jane and Grant Alan

Halloween was a lot more fun this year, but after the pumpkin patch, Trunk-or-treat with my playgroup, Harvest festival at our community, cookie/movie night with friends, and then actual trick or treating on Halloween night I was all Halloween'd out! They loved the idea of getting candy when you knock on a door, but HATED the idea of a costume so I had to modify them from the original plan. This is what the costumes were supposed to be like, but they wouldn't wear the front piece (plus they would have had on clothes if we were actually trick or treating haha!!) cookie and movie night with their friends Olivia, Brayden and Layla!

I'm doing the October Recap early because next postingings will be Halloween and DISNEYLAND!! YAY! McKinley dancing in her ballerina outfit! Grant at messy playday at our house! Yes, she even sleeps with her sunglasses on! One night we had a one hour crying fit b/c she woke up in the middle of the night wanting them back on and I refused to go in there and put them back on at 2 a.m.! This is pretty much what my day consists of EVERYDAY.... I'm pretty sure my mom never let me eat like this.. We got to enjoy some much needed family time and visit the pumpkin patch before Halloween rolls around! This was an awesome venue and we were lucky enough to be able to go on a Tuesday so NO crowds! Halloween is so much more fun this year now that they can enjoy all the fun activities! This is a RARE pic of them together! How grown up does she look in this pic?!?

So I guess at 2 years they get too old to start doing 25 month updates so now it will be monthly recaps! Grant: We had him evaluated for speech and they said he doesn't qualify, which is good b/c it means he's doing just fine with his speech! He has gone from mellow little boy to just all BOY! He will climb ANYTHING (kitchen counters, bathroom counters, changing table, dresser, etc). I often find him on the kitchen counters turning the microwave on! The other day I found both of them sitting on the changing table with the bottle of desitin and purell emptied out! I did have to grab a quick pic before they got in trouble! McKinley: She is all GIRL! Talk, talk, talk! She will talk whether or not you're listening! Speech is obviously no issue for her! Her big thing this past month has been her babies that she carries around. She will feed them, put them night night. She's such a good mommy! We took a break from school and work and did one last summer getaway at a resort by our house. The highlight of the trip was probably the pony rides! They LOVED it and held on by themselves like such big kids! Lots of tears were shed when we had to leave the ponies!

Granny and Papa Jack managed to make the long trip down for the babies birthday so we were able to celebrate with all 4 of the grandparents! It was a quick trip but while they were here we managed to hit up the Airport Restaurant for breakfast, which the babies loved b/c there were planes taking off and landing constantly so lots of free entertainment. Of course we did a trip to the mall and I got most of my Christmas shopping done and sent everything home with Mom and Dad. Grant and McKinley sure do love "papa" and will cry if he ever leaves their sight! Alot of times he was having to hold both of their hands or carry both of them because they refused to go to Chad or I with him around!
